About The Position

Position Summary: The Assistant Infection Preventionist directs and coordinates the infection control program in the hospital under the supervision of the IC Manager. The designated person will be given the authority to implement and enforce the Surveillance, Prevention, and Control Program policies, coordinates all infection prevention and control within the hospital and facilitates ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions under the supervision of the IC Manager. Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical/Other: Education : Baccalaureate degree preferred, or in recognition of the current demographics of the field, IP's without a baccalaureate degree are considered compliant with entry-level educational standards as long as certification is maintained . Experience: Experienced healthcare professional with a health science background . Has knowledge and experience in patient care practices, microbiology, aseptic technique, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, program administration and epidemiology. Software/Hardware: Microsoft word, Excel, Power-point License/Certification: Current Florida License as RN or Foreign Medical Graduate Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association What Should I Know About Hialeah Hospital? Requirements

  • Experienced healthcare professional with a health science background
  • Knowledge and experience in patient care practices, microbiology, aseptic technique, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, program administration and epidemiology.
  • Current Florida License as RN or Foreign Medical Graduate
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
  • Microsoft word, Excel, Power-point
