About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures. The RN is responsible for pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-procedure recovery for patients receiving imaging services such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, and interventional radiology procedures. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to care for both adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology, procedural nursing, or critical care settings .
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.
  • Ability to care for both adult and pediatric patient populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in radiology or imaging procedural environments .
  • Experience with sedation monitoring and recovery care .
  • Familiarity with CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology procedures .

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing imaging and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Monitor patients during procedures performed in CT, MRI, ultrasound, and interventional radiology suites.
  • Assess patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to sedation or anesthesia.
  • Provide patient education and preparation prior to imaging procedures.
  • Monitor patients during recovery and ensure safe discharge when appropriate.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists during interventional radiology procedures as needed.
  • Provide care for both inpatient and outpatient populations.
  • Support infants and pediatric patients undergoing MRI procedures with anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Follow infection control, patient safety, and sedation monitoring protocols.
