About The Position

The RN, Pharmacy is responsible for advancing the mission and vision of our department while practicing to the full extent of their licensure. This patient-facing role focuses on implementing key initiatives that are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives as a crucial member of the Value-Based Pharmacy department team. This role will connect our value-based patients with the knowledge, experience, and skills of our clinical pharmacy staff to ensure optimal health outcomes for individuals and the population and serve our valuebased patients and providers as an essential member of the interdisciplinary team

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • 3+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (IV Certified), preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience in medication administration, including IV infusion.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license- Florida (Required)
  • Completion of the competency and knowledge requirements necessary to qualify an LPN to administer IV therapy as defined by 64B9-12.005 of the Florida Administrative Code. (Required for LPN IV Certified)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Ability to lift to 15 lbs. independently not to exceed 50 lbs. without help.

Responsibilities

  • Report to one of multiple embedded IV infusion suites within an assigned geographic area on a rotating basis.
  • Round with providers and practice staff to provide education on value-based initiatives and workflows.
  • Monitor clinical inbox(s) and evaluate all new IV infusion orders, lab/imaging results, and documentation of diagnoses for completeness.
  • Complete benefits verification and any pre-authorization requirements before scheduling.
  • Perform patient outreach for scheduling of IV infusion services and provide patient instructions.
  • Measure and record patient vitals before IV infusion administration.
  • Administer IV infusion services authorized within the scope of practice of an RN or Licensed Professional Nurse under the direction of a registered nurse or physician as defined by 64B9-12.002004 of the Florida Administrative Code.
  • Maintain delegation and supervision logs (for LPN IV Certified).
  • Observe and report subjective and objective signs of adverse reactions to IV administration and perform adverse reaction protocols as necessary.
  • Document and bill for all services rendered in review to the ordering provider.
  • Communicate with ordering providers and supervising providers in a timely fashion as appropriate.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of all drug products and medical supplies necessary to stock each infusion suite.
  • Follow all policies and procedures regarding inspection of stock for outdates and recalls.
  • Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
