About The Position

The Neurosurgical ICU Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill neurosurgical patients. This role involves close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of recent Critical Care (ICU) experience required
• Active NJ RN License or Compact License
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Telemetry
• NIHSS Stroke CEU – 4 Contact Hours

Nice To Haves

• Strong preference for experience with: Neurosurgical patient populations
• Mechanical ventilation management
• External Ventricular Drains (EVDs)
• BSN

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill neurosurgical patients
• Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care through ongoing assessments
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions aligned with critical care standards
• Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced life support and neurological monitoring
• Accurately document care based on standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and patient-centered care
• Support quality improvement initiatives and unit goals
• Perform additional duties as assigned
