Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license (or attain within 90 days of hire) and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Basic Life Support certification is required (available upon hire)
  • 1-Year Medical-Surgical required
  • 1-year OB experience preferred
  • S.T.A.B.L.E to be completed within 6 months of hire
  • AWHONN bundle to be completed within one year of hire.
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Course Completion required
  • Annual Influenza Vaccination or Declination Required

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year OB experience preferred
  • bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a patient focused nursing plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family.
  • Cares for patients in accordance with established best practices.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Use and disclosure only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
  • Contributes to and assists in maintaining a pleasant patient environment in a safe and orderly manner.
