Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU – Part-time, 7P Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132 Work hours: Part-time, 24 hours weekly, 2-12 hours shifts, 7p – 7a shift Department Highlights 36 bed PCU Department; Nurse/Patient Ratio\: 1\:4 depending on acuity Patient population\: intermediate /telemetry level of care for the post-acute stroke, general medical, endocrine GI/renal patient population MAGNET facility Level III Trauma Center Primary Stroke center Stroke/Neuro designated unit Enjoy self-scheduling to help with work/life balance. Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS – within 90 days of hire
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
• In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
• The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

Nice To Haves

• PCU/Tele experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
• Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
• Strong Unit Based Council (UBC).
