Registered Nurse (RN) – Private Duty Home Care
About The Position
Affirmed Home Care is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide dedicated one-on-one care for private clients in Katonah and Southampton, New York. This opportunity is ideal for nurses who value building meaningful relationships with patients while delivering high-quality clinical care in a comfortable home environment. You’ll work closely with clients and their families while supported by a highly responsive and professional clinical team. Due to the nature of care required, the client has expressed a preference for a male nurse, though all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- 1–2+ years of clinical nursing experience preferred (home care, private duty, med-surg, or geriatrics)
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a home care setting
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- BLS / CPR Certification (e.g., from the American Heart Association)
- Reliable transportation preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care in the client’s home
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes in health status
- Deliver specialized care such as wound care, IV therapy, and catheter management
- Educate patients and families on disease management and home safety
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, care coordinators, and family members to ensure optimal care
