Surgical Services is seeking a qualified Registry Level 3 Surgical Nurse to support the department during high‑volume periods, weekends, call shifts, and holidays. This role requires a strong clinical skill set, flexibility, and the ability to function independently within a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Requirements

• Current Illinois RN license required.
• Minimum one year of RN operating room experience or – Prior registry surgical nurse experience or – The ability to train full‑time until competency is achieved.
• Must be willing and able to meet all scheduling expectations, including: Weekend shifts as assigned Call coverage during designated times Holiday rotation
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care in accordance with AORN standards and department policies.
• Support staffing needs including weekends, call coverage, and holiday rotations.
• Demonstrate competency across multiple surgical specialties or the ability to achieve competency within a defined time frame.
• Maintain effective communication with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with full‑time staff to support continuity of care, workflow, and departmental operations.
