About The Position

The perioperative nurse will function in the role of the circulating nurse and may function in the scrub role in the operating room. Previous operating room experience strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Education Level: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Certification/Licensure: Illinois licensed or eligible.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ACLS preferred or must be completed within one year.

Nice To Haves

  • CNOR preferred.
  • Minimum one-year scrub/circulator experience preferred.

  • Supports patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural, ethical and religious diversity.
  • Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to all populations.
  • Assess patient and family learning needs and provides ongoing education and evaluation.
  • Documents readiness to learn, teaching barriers and outcomes.
  • Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner, according to hospital policies and procedures.

  • Follows policy and procedures for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of scopes and instruments. 17.
  • Follows policy and procedure for environmental cleaning and housekeeping.
