About The Position

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking to contract with a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-site medical and wellness services for a federally supported residential youth program located in Chicopee, MA 01022. Our client operates a structured residential training program serving approximately 100–300 at-risk youth , ages 16 through 24 , with a mission to prepare participants for meaningful employment and independent living. This position provides direct, on-site nursing and health education services within the Center’s Health & Wellness Department, supporting student health, safety, and employability outcomes. This is a contract position with full-time availability at 40 hours per week . Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Weekends off. This role is on-site only ; telehealth or remote work is not available. The nurse will support the Health & Wellness program through direct patient care, health education, prevention initiatives, and coordination with clinical providers and program staff.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts
  • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a clinical, school-based, residential, or community health setting is required
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with adolescents or young adults is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Triaging urgent and emergent situations
  • Providing first aid and clinical assessments
  • Monitoring students with chronic conditions
  • Administering medications
  • Assisting with examinations
  • Coordinating referrals and follow-up care
  • Maintaining accurate and current medical records
  • Tracking laboratory results and immunizations for regulatory compliance
  • Supporting continuity of care through effective documentation and communication with physicians, nurse practitioners, and external healthcare providers
  • Providing health education through one-on-one instruction and group presentations
  • Maintaining prescription and medical supply inventories
  • Delivering staff training on health and wellness topics
  • Collaborating with community healthcare partners
  • Supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment
  • Promoting student development and career readiness through mentoring, modeling professional behaviors, and participating in committees or program initiatives as assigned
