Gastroenterology Associates, PC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Warrenton, VA to help drive patient success in our community. We are searching for a passionate Registered Nurse to work PRN in our Endo Suite, which is only open Monday through Friday. This position provides a great work - life balance as you will not have to work any nights or weekends! HOURS: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Who we are! Requirements

  • Registered nurse.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification required.
  • Solid nursing background, concentration, or willingness to obtain advanced knowledge in GI specialty.
  • Priority setting, application of judgment, communication skill and tact.

Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations requiring immediate medical intervention. Initiates emergency measures as needed. Assist with maintenance of crash cart.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs to provide supportive care before, during and after procedures.
  • Directly assist physicians with procedures including handling and maintaining accurate records of medications used and wasted during a procedure as well as accurate handling and labeling of specimens.
  • Maintain standard to provide safe, clean, and orderly environment, including cleaning, disinfection, and daily maintenance of any equipment. To include/provide a safe environment for the patient to prevent potential injury.
  • Initiate IV’s for patient sedation prior to the procedures.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician’s orders.
  • Participate in patient education pre and post procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient response.
  • Assist the physician with management of office visits.
  • Provide patient education and instruction.
  • Communicate with patients as applicable.
  • Maintain patient centered data in a neat and organized manner including chart entries, documentation, or communications to be sent externally.
  • Comply with adverse event reporting and patient privacy policies.
  • Infusion RN will place IV’s, administer IV medication, and fluids as ordered.
  • Monitor patients’ IV medications and tubing.
  • Give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as ordered.
  • Perform phlebotomy as needed, or as prescribed/ordered.
  • Monitor patients during infusion and discharge patients as policies indicate.
