As a Registered Nurse you will work on our remodeled 24-bed unit where teamwork and exceptional patient care are at the heart of everything we do. On 5D you'll care for a diverse patient population, including cardiac, respiratory, mental health, and general medical cases. Requirements

• Current NYS Registered Nursing
• 1 year RN experience preferred: Graduated Nurses welcome to apply
• Must obtain BLS and ACLS certification prior to completion of the introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with a variety of needs.
• Use a person-centered care approach in the development of care, and effectively prioritize patient needs that are both expected and unanticipated.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to interact with other health care professional and patients.
• Demonstrate competence and resourcefulness in the implementation of the technical skills required to care for the patient.
• Demonstrates initiative in remaining current in the organization and department policies, procedures, and standards.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care giving, shows follow through on delivery, demonstrates critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions, proactively addresses actual and potential problems, and executing compliant clinical documentation.
• Assist with educating patients and families and serves as a resource on department standards for patient care.
