About The Position

The Center for Great Expectations (CGE) is a New Jersey nonprofit organization dedicated to helping pregnant and parenting women, and their children, achieve stability through supportive housing, recovery services, and trauma-informed care. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team immediately to provide full-time coverage for a 3–4-month temporary leave. The Registered Nurse ensures quality, comprehensive medical care for residents (pregnant or parenting women) and their children. The RN provides assessments, medical coordination, medication oversight, health education, and supports compliance with NJ residential treatment regulations. The ideal candidate is an experienced RN who is passionate about maternal-child health, behavioral health, and trauma-informed care in a residential treatment setting. Requirements

  • Active New Jersey RN License
  • Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • 2+ years in residential treatment, behavioral health, or substance use recovery preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and clinical documentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic residential setting

Nice To Haves

  • CARN certification preferred
  • Experience working with pregnant or parenting populations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health assessments and ongoing medical monitoring for residents and children
  • Coordinate medical appointments, referrals, and case management
  • Oversee medication administration and documentation in compliance with N.J.A.C. 10:161A-1.5
  • Maintain medication inventory, reconciliation, and disposal procedures
  • Lead health education groups (maternal health, infant wellness, hygiene, nutrition, safety)
  • Train staff on medication compliance, infection control, and universal precautions
  • Document all services using DAP note format
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings
  • Ensure continuity of care across nursing and clinical services
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and regulatory standards
  • Provide on-call support and assist with emergency procedures as needed
