About The Position

As a Registered Private Client Associate, you will be an integral member of a collaborative four-person team supporting a well-established wealth management practice. This role is ideal for someone who already holds industry licenses and is looking to deepen their experience within a sophisticated advisory environment. Working closely with two senior advisors and the broader team, the Registered Private Client Associate helps ensure seamless client service, efficient operational execution, and the continued growth of a highly respected advisory practice. About the Team Our team is an established wealth management practice within Janney Montgomery Scott with more than 40 years of combined industry experience serving high-net-worth individuals and families in the local Richmond, VA area. Led by two senior partners recognized by Forbes for their excellence in wealth management, our team has built a reputation for delivering thoughtful advice, disciplined portfolio management, and exceptional client service. We operate as a collaborative four-person team that values professionalism, precision, and a shared commitment to long-term client relationships. This is not a traditional administrative role. As a Registered Private Client Associate, you will play an integral part in the daily operations of a high-performing advisory practice. You will work directly alongside experienced advisors and support staff who are deeply invested in the success of the team and in the professional development of the right candidate. Our practice prides itself on maintaining a high-touch client experience, strong internal collaboration, and a culture of accountability and excellence. Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a financial advisory or wealth management practice
  • Familiarity with brokerage or custodial platforms
  • Securities licenses such as the FINRA Series 7 or FINRA Series 63, or willingness to obtain them

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing prompt and thoughtful support
  • Coordinate meetings and communications between clients and advisors
  • Ensure every client interaction reflects professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail
  • Opening and maintaining investment accounts
  • Preparing and processing client documentation
  • Coordinating asset transfers and account updates
  • Monitoring requests to ensure timely completion
  • Processing trades and transaction requests
  • Initiating wires, ACH transfers, and internal account journals
  • Tracking requests through completion while maintaining strict accuracy
  • Assemble client meeting materials and portfolio reports
  • Update CRM systems and maintain client records
  • Capture meeting notes and coordinate follow-up items
