About the Project/Clinic: AMI will be assisting in providing medical staff to the East Orange VA Medical Center in East Orange, NJ to help deliver compassionate and quality healthcare to patients in the area. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) to provide comprehensive non-invasive vascular diagnostic testing services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The RVS will operate ultrasound diagnostic equipment to evaluate vascular structures and blood flow throughout the body and assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease.

  • Must be able to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Completion of an accredited vascular ultrasound or diagnostic medical sonography program
  • Active/valid RVS certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Ability to operate ultrasound and vascular diagnostic equipment
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.?

  • Prior clinical experience performing vascular diagnostic studies highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations using specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • Evaluate and document vascular blood flow and hemodynamic data.
  • Conduct studies related to: Peripheral arterial circulation Peripheral venous circulation Cerebrovascular circulation Abdominal vascular circulation Limb volume and pressure measurements Oxygen saturation and related vascular parameters.
  • Ensure accurate acquisition and recording of diagnostic images and data for physician interpretation.
  • Prepare and position patients for vascular diagnostic procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients and respond to questions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures and report abnormalities as needed.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to the veteran population.
  • Operate and maintain vascular ultrasound and diagnostic testing equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards and adhere to departmental protocols.
  • Accurately document all diagnostic findings and technical data in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate test results and relevant clinical information to interpreting physicians and care teams.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with VA documentation standards.
