Position Summary: Performs necessary functions to support various areas within hospital business office. Primary duties include support for patient registration and pre-registration. Pay starting at $16.50 per hour - based on experience Essential Functions: The position’s primary functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Admit and register patients on day of procedures Handle general inquiries Ensure all papers are properly filled out and input into system. Maintain daily schedules. Enter and verify that all patient demographics and billing information correctly entered/verified at time of check in. Process encounters daily for and balance to co-payments. Collect balances due at time of check in. Direct patients to relevant areas of building. Answer phones. Obtain signed statements. Record payments. Perform tours. Keep admission desk clean and organized. Perform insurance data entry. Contact nurses and doctors about surgeries and meetings Demonstrates safe work habits through compliance with work-related policies and procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations. Demonstrates cost consciousness through efficient use of time, materials, staff, equipment, supplies and available resources. Consistently utilizes spare-time to benefit unit, patients, and co-workers. Provides directions to areas within organization. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others.
