About The Position

The Registration Specialist supports clinic and procedural operations by performing patient registration and scheduling functions for Endoscopy services across Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Hospital settings. This role ensures accurate demographic and financial data collection, supports patient flow, verifies insurance coverage, and delivers professional customer service to patients, families, and clinical teams.

Requirements

Ability to interpret insurance information and benefit coverage
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Effective communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced healthcare environment
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
Ability to learn and retain medical coding concepts (ICD‑10 and CPT preferred)
Customer Service experience is preferred
Previous experience in a healthcare or patient access setting preferred

Responsibilities

Register patients and schedule Endoscopy procedures and clinic appointments
Schedule office and procedure appointments
Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, and authorization requirements
Obtain accurate demographic and financial information to support billing, reimbursement, and clinical outcomes
Facilitate patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely and professional manner
Interview patients to obtain required medical and administrative information
Explain hospital and department charges, policies, and procedures
Enter and validate charges in appropriate systems and collect payments as required
Answer incoming calls and appropriately direct patients and visitors
Communicate effectively with physician offices, clinics, and scheduling departments via phone and Microsoft Teams
