Job Description Summary The Psychometrist under direct supervision of a Neuropsychologist, administers and scores a number of psychological/neuropsychological tests. escorts patients to and from testing area, completes files of test data for transfer to neuropsychologist, and maintains supply of test materials. Job Description The Psychometrist will: Administers a variety of psychological and neuropsychological tests as directed by supervising neuropsychologist. Uses judgment during testing sessions to modify types of measures and administration to assure valid and reliable results. Develops rapport for valid test administration. Explains and assists patients in methods and techniques necessary for completion of tests. Assures patient safety in all aspects of service delivery. Performs computerized and/or manual scoring of all tests given, including use of judgment according to scoring guidelines for qualitative, subjective test responses. Provides detailed description of patient’s behavior during testing Creates files for test data, including data summary sheets and delivers to supervising/ordering neuropsychologist in a timely manner Maintains inventory of test materials and requests new forms and supplies as needed; assists in anticipating needs according to use for budget planning Completes time limited projects as requested by neuropsychologists, such as testing research, developing disability accommodations for test equipment, procedures. Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of SRALab.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
  • Minimum of three to six months’ of on the job training and experience to become familiar with tests, equipment and proper methods of administration and scoring.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with patients, families, psychologists and organizational administrators.
  • Analytic skills to exercise good judgment and problem-solving in delivery of clinical service.
  • Knowledge and application of general professional skills for attention to detail, accountability and follow through, flexibility and adaptability to changing work requirements.
