About The Position

We are seeking a Regulatory Analyst to play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance across the oil and gas well lifecycle, from initial authorization through production. This position will be responsible for preparing and filing permits and regulatory documentation while working closely with internal teams and government agencies to support compliant and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of analyst‑level experience or ten (10) years of regulatory experience
  • Working knowledge of Texas Railroad Commission rules and regulatory filing requirements
  • Prior experience filing UIC permits
  • Solid understanding of drilling, completions, land, and general oil & gas operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Associate’s degree
  • Permian Basin regulatory experience
  • Experience interpreting complex permitting, lease, unit, and allocation boundary issues
  • Familiarity with oilfield terminology and well operations
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Permian basin experience preferred
  • Motivated self-starter capable of performing with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Familiar with oilfield terminology and operations

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file drilling, completion, and workover permits with the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), including P-12s, P-16s, and SWR 37/38/40 filings
  • Review and submit completion filings to the RRC, ensuring regulatory compliance through evaluation of wellbore, drilling, and completion data
  • Review third‑party documentation and as‑drilled plats to verify accuracy, lease/unit boundaries, and off‑lease vs. on‑lease locations
  • Coordinate with drilling, land, and other internal teams to resolve permitting issues and prevent encroachment or regulatory conflicts
  • File and manage UIC permits, including collection, review, and validation of all required supporting data
  • Maintain working knowledge of current RRC rules and ensure filings remain compliant with regulatory updates
  • Support ongoing regulatory filings including H‑5s, H‑15s, and commingling permits, additionally flare permits, and have knowledge around Critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate end‑to-end understanding of well lifecycle operations from staking through plugging
