About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a physical, occupational or speech therapist, assists with support activities in the provision of patient care. Responsible for support activities including patient transportation, equipment maintenance, supplies, inventory, and office assistance.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or higher level degree
American Heart Association BLS
Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
Knowledge, skills, and ability to administer all department modalities, programs, and protocols appropriate to the age of the patients served
Written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
Provides effective therapy treatment support activities as delegated by the therapist and in compliance with hospital licensing and accreditation standards and in compliance with the Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy Practice Acts.
Maintains equipment and appearance of the treatment areas.
Performs office tasks and maintains supply inventory as assigned.
Provides thorough, timely, legible, and consistent patient care documentation as appropriate.
Utilizes all resources to assist with patient flow as applicable, including but not limited to printing forms, scheduling patients, etc..
Participates in special department programs as assigned.
Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and coordination to maximize patient outcomes.
Responds positively, appropriately, and in a timely fashion to all communications including patients, co-workers, supervisors, other departments, physicians, etc..
Performs other duties as assigned.
