ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Renewable Energy Control Center Intern – Operator Support to assist the Operations & Maintenance team in the safe, efficient, and well-documented operation of renewable energy assets. This role supports Renewable Energy Control Operators by contributing to documentation, training development, and information management within the Control Center. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to renewable energy operations while supporting process standardization and operational excellence across Wind, Solar, and BESS assets. As part of the Acciona Internship Program, you'll be assigned specific projects and goals, carefully defined by your manager, to apply your field of study through hands-on experience. You’ll also have the chance to connect with fellow interns during fun activities, such as a site visit to our Wind and PV facility, a summer company outing, and weekly intern lunches every Friday. You'll be part of our vibrant Chicago office community, where you can participate in various events and wellness activities open to all employees. Our downtown Chicago office offers a modern, open layout with plenty of collaborative spaces and break-out areas. Interns will work 40 hours a week, on-site in the Chicago office.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation tools.
  • Interest in renewable energy and control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, review, and organization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the design and structuring of simulation-based training materials.
  • Organize and maintain digital documentation systems and version control.
  • Provide documentation support for operational records and reports.
  • Help standardize Electrical Switching and Operation Center procedures.
  • Shadow Renewable Energy Control Operators (non-operational role).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in internal training and industry learning.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling and meeting notes
  • Other duties as assigned
