At OBrien Interiors Group, our Renovation Specialists are an integral part of a traveling crew within the Midwest, that performs a wide range of interior renovation and remodeling duties for residential and multifamily units. This role is hands-on and includes painting, surface preparation, drywall repair, finishing work, and general construction tasks. The Renovation Specialist supports unit turns, capital improvements, and renovation projects while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and company values. Responsibilities Renovation & Construction Perform interior renovation work including painting, drywall patching, taping, mudding, sanding, caulking, trim work, minor carpentry, basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical work/ Prepare units for renovation or turnover by assessing conditions and completing assigned scopes of work Assist with flooring installation, cabinetry touch-ups, door and hardware installation, and finish work Identify maintenance or structural issues and report findings to supervisors Painting & Surface Preparation Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment Apply primers and sealers to prepare new or repaired surfaces Mix and match paint colors and finishes Cover surfaces with drop cloths and protective materials Fill cracks, holes, and joints using caulk, putty, or plaster Smooth and prepare surfaces using sandpaper or power tools Use specialized finishing techniques when required General Responsibilities Read work orders and follow instructions from supervisors Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites Safely use hand and power tools Communicate professionally with team members and supervisors Maintain regular attendance and meet project deadlines Uphold company core values, including Integrity and Code of Ethics Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications & Abilities Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Valid drivers license required Minimum 2 years of experience in renovation, remodeling, painting, or construction preferred Strong mechanical and construction skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Team-oriented with positive communication skills Routinely lift 2575 lbs.; occasionally lift 76100+ lbs. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and repetitive motion Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Work Environment Field-based, on-site residential units Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions Fast-paced renovation environment Compensation & Benefits The pay range varies, depending on experience, skills and abilities.
