About The Position

The Rental Shop Technician Apprentice is responsible for performing jobs involving servicing and repair of all types of mechanical, hydraulic and diesel-powered equipment, working both independently and on a team. On the job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning will ensure that skills remain current. The Technician will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. They must be committed to safety standards and champion a healthy and safe work environment while consistently representing Blanchard in a professional manner. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass Blanchard Machinery Criteria Assessment Tool.
Ability to operate lifting devices.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment
Familiarization of electronic cables, connections, and sensors.
A demonstrated commitment to accuracy, organization and ability to prioritize tasks is required.
Meet Company Driver Qualifications policy.
Maintain a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures preferred.
Able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals preferred.
Working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
Previous experience on CAT equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform rental turns and preventive maintenance on rental fleet.
Inspect equipment for damage and operational functions; change oil filters; lube equipment; and replace parts on rental equipment.
Read and use maintenance manuals to assist in repairs.
Follow equipment repair priority list as established by the Service Supervisor.
Maintain a clean, well-organized workstation.
Complete quality control service tags when inspecting rental equipment ensuring all units inspected have tag attached.
Assist other technicians, wash equipment, and assist customers with loading and unloading of equipment.
Engage in both academic and practical assessments to demonstrate skill development.
Attend all technical classes and complete all apprenticeship assessments.
Diagnose and repair Caterpillar systems in designated field.
Engage in both academic and practical assessments to demonstrate skill development.
Other duties as assigned.
