The RCI marketing team is seeking a Reporting & Insights Analyst. This role will help drive the success of the business by providing insight to guide management and operational decision-making. The analyst will be involved in the standard production and automation of marketing reports on a regular basis. They will also be responsible for enhancing existing reports and developing new ones. There will be an emphasis on process improvements and participation in ad hoc analytics projects. The Reporting and Insights Analyst is expected to be an independent, creative and curious individual who is quick to grasp business needs and translate them into (1) complex data queries; (2) simple, clear end products (reports, analyses); and (3) actionable insights (presentations, recommendations).The role requires fluid contact with the larger Marketing department to ensure that marketers’ requests are well interpreted and their reporting needs met in the most efficient, insightful way possible. Frequent interaction with the Database Marketing team, external technology/analytics vendors, and other areas across the business (Revenue Management Analytics, Modelling, Testing, Finance, and Business Development) is also to be expected.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in an Analytics/Reporting/Customer Insight role
  • 3+ years of using data manipulation and reporting tools such as SAS, SPSS, SQL, Oracle SQL Plus, SQL Navigator (REQUIRED)
  • Expertise with Excel (REQUIRED)
  • BS or MS in Statistics, Applied Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another field involving quantitative analysis
  • Strong data presentation/visualization skills
  • 2+ years of experience with database software applications and data mining tools
  • Sound business judgment and decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SDL Analytics (preferred but not required)
  • Travel/Hospitality experience a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Use SAS/SQL/Excel knowledge & expertise to drive reporting that measures performance across a variety of business units.
  • Production and quality control of recurring scheduled reporting to be delivered to the Marketing team.
  • Independently develop/enhance ad hoc analyses and reporting to solve current business issues, drive incremental ROI, adapt to changing requirements or underlying data, and to increase clarity and usability.
  • Ensure best practices and global alignment with the creation of reporting.
  • Contribute to long term reporting strategy, providing inputs into troubleshooting, future developments/ evolution of reporting.
  • Identify and distil key business insights out of queried data and prepare summary findings for stakeholders.
