About The Position

The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF), a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science User Facility at Argonne National Laboratory, is seeking a PhD Summer Student to support user experience assessment and improvement activities. The ALCF enables breakthroughs in science and engineering by providing leadership-class supercomputing resources and expertise to researchers from academia, industry, and government. In this position, the student will analyze user survey data and develop actionable, data-driven recommendations to improve the experience of ALCF users and enhance the effectiveness of facility services, training, and support. The role provides an opportunity to apply research and analytical skills in a mission-driven national laboratory environment.

Requirements

The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
Applicants must be:
Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test
Must complete a satisfactory background check.
