About The Position

Research Assistant Bioanalytical Madison, WI Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your background in Analytical Chemistry? Join Labcorp’s Discovery Bioanalytical team as a Research Assistant. In this role, you will play a key part in Pharmacokinetic (PK) research within a fast‑paced laboratory environment. Our team specializes in small‑molecule analysis using High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS) and advanced automation, including robotic systems for sample handling. You will also have opportunities to expand your expertise through method development, sample and data analysis, and hands‑on work with cutting‑edge instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Chemistry or a related scientific field required.
  • Applicants with 1+ years of hands on of HPLC experience will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment (balances, pipettes, centrifuges).
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation.
  • Ability to design and independently conduct tests and perform initial data analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • This position is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of analytical chemistry experience.
  • Prior Mass Spectrometry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates with HPLC experience are encouraged to apply—we provide training to help you develop LC‑MS skills.
  • Strong preference for candidates with LC‑MS experience

Responsibilities

  • Analyze biological or chemical samples a for various compounds in compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Compile and report results to management.
  • Organize, conduct, and evaluate analytical testing and results.
  • Maintain study documentation and laboratory records.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain general laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Perform quality control reviews of data.
  • Communicate deviations or issues that may affect data integrity to the Study Director, Principal Investigator, or management, and participate in corrective actions.
  • Assist with method development and validation for various analytes across multiple matrices.
  • Perform complex analyses using new or unfamiliar methods, seeking scientific guidance when needed.
  • Recommend improvements to test methods or procedures.
  • Participate in project meetings, contributing to planning, monitoring, and guiding project work.
  • Support client visits and help communicate technical information.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating data for inclusion in written reports.
