About The Position

The Research Assistant will assume primary responsibility for establishing, documenting, and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory processes, ensuring consistency, regulatory compliance, and reproducibility of experimental work. The position will also oversee laboratory operations, including maintaining comprehensive inventories of chemicals and reagents, managing cell and tissue banks, and coordinating the care and management of animal colonies. These responsibilities are critical for ensuring uninterrupted research activities and adherence to institutional and regulatory standards. In addition to laboratory management duties, the Research Assistant will actively contribute to experimental workflows. This includes assisting with advanced laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, animal surgery, tissue processing, and histological analyses. Their technical expertise will significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of data generation across multiple ongoing and planned research projects. The Research Assistant will also play a key role in the training and professional development of graduate students and junior laboratory trainees. By providing hands-on instruction, mentorship, and oversight, this position will help ensure that trainees develop strong technical skills and adhere to best practices in experimental design and laboratory conduct.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with four years' experience in a research or laboratory setting; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
