The University of Pittsburgh Department of Emergency Medicine is looking for research assistants to assist with an NIH-funded, laboratory-based experimental research study focused on sleep loss, cardiovascular health, and psychomotor performance in public safety and health care shift workers. Prior experience working with research teams in a University setting is desired but not required. Prior experience working with large teams as a student research assistant and/or with multiple faculty investigators is desired but not required. Prior experience using different types of non-invasive monitoring devices is desired (e.g., ambulatory blood pressure monitoring devices). Prior experience using different types of computer software programs for research purposes such as REDCap is desired. Candidates will be trained to follow a standard protocol. Strict adherence to protocol is expected. Assisting faculty investigators with data collection and data quality checks are expected. Given the focus of this research study, candidate research assistants will be scheduled in shifts to help adequately staff the laboratory for participant monitoring during evenings, nights, and weekends when needed. Scheduling will be flexible yet will include night shifts that range between 5 and 12 hours in duration
