AIR is seeking a Research Associate to support applied research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects within the Human and Community Development program. The Research Associate will work as part of interdisciplinary project teams and contribute to research and implementation efforts across a range of policy areas. This role may support federally funded initiatives, including work related to health systems governance and modernization efforts, such as AIR’s support of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). The Research Associate will contribute to projects in the Human and Community Development program. This program generates evidence-informed solutions and fosters cross-sector collaboration across the following interconnected portfolios: Community Health: Evidence translation and communication to inform health care choices, healthy behaviors, and system improvement; health systems governance support; housing and homelessness; behavioral health; disaster preparedness; and rural health. Children & Families: Early childhood, early learning, childcare, maternal and infant health, and child welfare. Safety & Justice: Violence prevention and intervention, youth and adult diversion services, wraparound facilities and reentry supports, and national defense and law enforcement readiness. Youth Development: Out-of-school time and summer programs, youth sports and arts, adolescent science, informal learning (e.g., libraries and museums), and youth economic mobility. This position will contribute primarily to one portfolio, with opportunities to support projects across other portfolios based on their skills and experience. This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of AIR’s U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.
