Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or designee, the Research Associate I provides operational support to the laboratory. The Research Associate I will perform research experiments as defined by the PI. Our laboratory conducts discovery and pre-clinical development of biologics to prevent or treat disease. Diseases include infectious disease (viral and bacterial) and immunoregulatory conditions. Not only do we discover human monoclonal or VHH antibodies to prevent or treat disease, but also perform IND-enabling studies to progress to clinical trials. Most of the delivery platforms for these biologics are local delivery to the mucosal tissue. This includes passive immunotherapy as well as future development of genetic delivery of the biologics. This project provides an excellent opportunity to learn and further develop a variety of techniques. The position will have exposure to using several antibody discovery platforms, from phage and yeast display, to nanobody development, and protein purifications/modifications.
