We are looking for a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join the Automation Team within Controlled Environments. We are looking for candidates who take initiative, love to learn, work hard, and have a stable work history.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree and one year experience in a related field
Excellent communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, and a positive attitude
The ability work well independently
The drive to seek out necessary information to aid in preparation and planning of weekly tasks
Close attention to detail, and ability to follow standard operating and safety/ergonomics protocols
Excellent computer skills including experience with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), and a willingness to gain competency with internally developed research software
Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time, lift up to 30 pounds and perform repetitive work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen present year-round

Responsibilities

Manage the schedule for all of the various tasks and activities which happen in automation
Communicate with other groups within Controlled Environments for upcoming requests for automation
Ensure proper and timely execution of tasks happening within automation
Execute on plant care tasks for various crops according to a defined schedule
Be responsible for execution of autonomous robot activity and prepping and monitoring workload throughout the day
Troubleshoot and document automation issues and correct errors within the system
Executes plant care tasks for various crops
Works once every 6th weekend, with comp days
Is “on-call” for automation support every third or fourth week
