Research Data Analyst
About The Position
Weigel Broadcasting in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Data Analyst to manage research data analytics workflow, timeline development, and all projects for our local television stations, radio station, and our six nationally rated networks. About the Role · Lead research and data analytics strategy across our local television stations in Chicago, Milwaukee, and South Bend · Oversee research support for our radio station, WRME-FM in Chicago · Support our six nationally rated networks: MeTV, Heroes & Icons, Start TV, Catchy Comedy, dabl, and MeTV Toons · Serve as the primary research partner and resource to the National and Local Sales teams · Deliver data-driven insights that enhance advertiser partnerships and support revenue growth
Requirements
- Detail oriented, organized, customer service focused, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Skilled in using PC, Web based software, and Microsoft 365 Programs to compile and analyze consumer research, retail expenditures, and product/lifestyle information across key retail categories
- Implemented research strategies and projects that support the needs of the GSMs, department heads, and sales staff
- Developed market presentations covering sports sponsorships, Fall lineup, and how broadcast media differentiates from other media
Nice To Haves
- Gained 1-3 years of broadcast or cable research experience (or equivalent)
- Obtained a college degree (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Nielson, Comscore, Media Monitors, Strata(FreeWheel), Scarborough, and MRI/Gfk-Simmons
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Fulfill Sales managers and Account Executives requests for qualitative and expenditure data
- Develop and maintain market, station, customer category, and client specific presentations
- Communicate the value of local assets to station management/department heads, account executives, and advertising community
- Become the station expert on all in-house, third-party research, and data systems (e.g., NLTV, NNTV, NPOWER, MRI Gfk Simmons, Strata FreeWheel, Scarborough, and comScore, etc)
- Other duties, as assigned
