About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Research Fellow is a full-time temporary advanced scholarly appointment (not to exceed five years) to conduct advanced independent and/or directed research programs. The research fellow will conduct translational research projects at the direction of the principal investigator or program director. The role of a research fellow requires detailed knowledge of a technical field, process, or discipline. Work shall include developing, implementing, and executing research plans, data collection and analysis as well as documenting research findings in concise yet complete technical reports. A research fellow must be able to rapidly identify trends in data or shortcomings in experimental design, so that random adjustments may be made without the direct daily supervision of a principal investigator. Oversee clinical research operations including database management, data collection, and regulatory compliance (IRB preparation, submission, and reporting) Coordinate and manage laboratory activities, ensuring smooth execution of ongoing projects, task delegation, and workflow organization Contribute to scholarly output by assisting with grant writing, proposal submissions, and manuscript preparation Develop and implement experimental paradigms and tasks for active clinical research studies, including participant administration and data acquisition Support long-term research strategy through project tracking, resource management, and cross-disciplinary collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high fidelity experimentation in line with the objectives of the research program. (40%)
  • Collect and analyze data from the literature and from ongoing experimentation to support hypotheses. (25%)
  • Participate in writing research publications, presentations, and grant proposals. (20%)
  • Aid the investigator in managing research staff and maintaining research facilities on an as-needed basis. (10%)
  • Other duties as assigned, including representing the lead investigator at scientific conferences and meetings. (5%)
