The Hollings Cancer Center and the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invite applications for Research Instructor of Biostatistics. This posting is for a faculty biostatistician affiliated with the Biostatistics Shared Resource within the Hollings Cancer Center, South Carolina’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center. An MS or MPH in statistics, biostatistics, or related field with a minimum of two years relevant experience at the time of appointment is required. This position will involve significant collaborative interactions with Hollings Cancer Center clinical researchers with a major emphasis on the design and conduct of early phase oncology therapeutic trials and non-therapeutic behavioral or hybrid efficacy-implementation trials. Additional responsibilities will include joint grant proposals with cancer center members, development of statistical methodology to advance cancer research, and the design of pre-clinical, translational and epidemiological studies. Excellent data analysis skills are required. Applicants with prior experience working in an NCI-designated or comprehensive cancer center are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will have expertise in protocol development, proficiency in clinical trial electronic database development using REDCap and NIH Common Data Elements, experience with trial conduct including risk-based monitoring and reporting, and familiarity with ICH Efficacy Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice (ICH E6) and Statistical Principles for Clinical Trials (ICH E9).
