About The Position

HIT Strategies is seeking a research manager (RM) to work in the Office of the President (OOP) in leading research on Black populations during the 2026 election cycle. This is a full-time fixed-term exempt position reporting to the President through December 2026. Within the Office of the President, the RM owns the client relationship throughout the research engagement. They review and edit client deliverables ensuring that analysts are following processes and delivering quality research products on time. The RM works with our research investment team to execute a roadmap expanding the breadth and depth of OOP’s issue area expertise. The RM is a content expert that collaborates with the marketing and communications team to publicize research across op-eds, media interviews and social media. The RM is a people leader who can build, train, manage, support and lead effective teams in achieving Office of the President’s performance goals. The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher with a personal commitment to high standards, who excels at driving team performance and socializing research highlighting underrepresented communities, while ensuring methodological rigor and cultural competency in the deliverables they review from their team. Therefore, expert analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills are required in this role. The successful candidate is also able to coordinate work timing and sequencing efficiently in a fast-paced environment--with flexibility to work non-traditional hours when the project or client necessitates. We work closely with high-profile political organizations and candidates, so interest and understanding of electoral politics, social activism, and advocacy work is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Marketing, Mass Communications, Economics, Statistics, Humanities, or related concentration.
  • 4 years of previous work experience in public opinion including a focus on Black and African-American research
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially succinct and concise reporting, as demonstrated by a research assessment
  • Experience conducting polls
  • Experience managing vendors’ progress and interacting with clients for product delivery
  • Experience managing people including supervision and delegation of work
  • Ability to produce a variety of high-quality analysis and presentations as demonstrated by a portfolio of work samples
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 - 7 years of previous work experience in a related field.
  • Experience generating crosstabs
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques to analyze data (regression analyses, cluster analyses, etc.)
  • Familiarity with VAN, L2, Catalist, Targetsmart or other voter files strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage research projects logistics (timeline, substance, quality standard), plan implementation, and coordinate team members to drive towards client product delivery
  • Drive accurate, high-quality, culturally competent analysis of behaviors, attitudes, values, and other drivers within research populations
  • Provide specialized consultation that allows clients to achieve their objectives and goals
  • Leverage research expertise to pitch to clients and expand revenue generation
  • Manage research projects of both qualitative and quantitative substance from the design stage to final analysis
  • Lead a portfolio of work within issue, geographic, or demographic verticals and ensuring research across all clients in those verticals is consistent and iterative
  • Design and pitch research projects to prospective clients during the sales process
  • Manage client’s timeline and project objectives and goals, helping define the scope of work with guiding questions to ensure research substance aligns with client’s actionable operations. Manage project team’s timely and complete delivery of research products
  • Draft public opinion surveys for a variety of research audiences, including determining appropriate questions, developing polls and screeners, composing moderator and research guides for qualitative research
  • Monitor survey response partial data, mid-project, and reporting up progress, notifying concerns, and managing adjustments with sub-contractors
  • Brief and train qualitative group moderators
  • Review and approve data products including cross tabs, toplines, dashboards, and analytical reports
  • Produce and deliver snapshot briefs for clients ahead of final analysis and reports
  • Write and produce visually compelling and accurate analytical reports including statistical facts, key data trends, and critical insights pertinent to client objectives and outcomes
