This position will work within the Montgomery Research Team ( https://montgomerylab.wiscweb.wisc.edu/ ), led by Kitty Montgomery, PhD, RN, PCNS-BC, and support ongoing studies focused on understanding and addressing the physical and psychological symptoms associated with cancer and its treatment. Aligned with the School of Nursing’s Signature Areas of Symptom Science and Palliative Care and Children, Families, and Reproductive Health, Dr. Montgomery’s research program aims to improve the care and well-being of children with cancer through both qualitative and quantitative methods. Current studies involve recruiting English- and Spanish-speaking children, adolescents, and adults living with cancer and collecting self-report, proxy-report, and clinical data. The grant portfolio includes a multi-year NIH R01. This position will be responsible for coordinating the daily activities of Dr. Montgomery’s research studies by organizing the research team, co-leading research team meetings, assuring compliance with federal and institutional regulations, implementing study procedures, and maintaining regular communications among research staff, UW Carbone Cancer Center staff, and personnel at other participating clinical sites. Other duties include assisting with study recruitment and retention, training team members, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, participating in data analysis, and writing reports, study manuscripts, and grant proposals. This position may be part-time or full-time, 80-100%. Starting FTE is negotiable within that range. This position is eligible for the following: partial remote work (hybrid schedule) or 100% on-site work. The person in this position may request and be considered for a formal remote work agreement based on guidelines set forth by the School of Nursing, and/or may be provided with remote work flexibility as needed and approved by the supervisor. A remote work agreement may allow for a maximum of 40% remote work per week. This position may require occasional evening and weekend work as well as travel approximately once per year for research meetings.
