RESEARCH SCIENTIST 3, CHUNG LAB , Picower Institute for Learning and Memory , is a pivotal role responsible for generating spatial transcriptomic and proteomic optical imaging data of human and non-human primate brains, utilizing the novel technology pipeline established by the Chung Lab, including tissue processing, molecular probe staining, and volumetric data acquisition using light sheet microscopes. Will be a direct contributor to a large NIH UM1 research center, entitled Center for Multi-scale Multi-Omic Human and Non-human Primate Atlas. The primary responsibilities of the research scientist are to independently conduct experiments and optimize various protocols to ensure successful and consistent results; work closely with the collaborating teams across the center to conduct necessary protocol validation experiments; work closely with the Principal Investigator and key personnel of the Center to meet the milestone timeline via routine updates meeting with Project Teams/Programs/Cores for the center; assist with preparation of progress reports for funded research projects; ensure timely data generation and experimental research progress; and independently conduct and lead experiments to meet the requirement of overall center goals with assistance from junior research staff.
