About The Position

Harris Beach Murtha’s Knowledge Services team is in search of a Research Services Coordinator with excellent organizational and analytical skills. The Research Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting the firm’s research services by performing basic legal, legislative, business, and other non-legal research on behalf of attorneys and professional staff. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong initiative when assisting attorneys and staff
  • Sound judgment in referring complicated questions to librarians
  • Superior client service and listening skills
  • Exhibit the ability to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines, and provide solutions in a fast-paced office setting
  • Take initiative and adapt to changes in workflow, processes, and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Law or business library experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with library software applications (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform legal, business and non-legal research, including searching public records
  • Set up tracking and monitor new court cases and records
  • Produce and manage current awareness alerts
  • Assist with quick reference questions, case pulling projects, and assembling research materials
  • Obtain documents from state and federal courts using electronic resources, third party vendor, or directly from court
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives under the direction of Knowledge Services managers or Chief Knowledge Officer
