The Horticultural Crops Research Station is hiring an Agricultural Technician with growth potential for a fulfilling career in the agricultural industry. Our mission is to serve as a platform for agricultural research to make farming more efficient, productive, and profitable, while maintaining a sound environment and providing consumers with safe and affordable products. Applied field research is conducted on various crops including sweet potatoes, melons, tomatoes, peppers, squash and new and emerging specialty crops. Our ideal candidate has hands-on farm operation experience including ability to operate farm equipment, applying pesticides, and irrigation experience. If you are passionate about working in agriculture this is a great opportunity to join our Research Stations team! Key responsibilities include: • Assist with layout of plots, planting, applying spray treatments, and harvesting of various crops. • Operate farm equipment. • Repairs and maintenance on equipment and machinery • Adhering to health and safety regulations
