About The Position
The Electron Microscopy Core is a full-service laboratory providing specialized technical support to physicians, scientists, and researchers. We are seeking a motivated technologist with a background in health sciences to join our team. The EM Research Technologist provides electron microscopy technical services in support of clinical diagnostic testing and a diverse range of research laboratories. This role involves working with clinical/patient tissue specimens as well as samples submitted by research investigators. The position offers hands-on experience in a highly specialized laboratory environment with opportunities for technical growth and professional development. Responsibilities
- Tissue processing, embedding, and ultrathin sectioning
- Working safely with chemicals and biohazardous materials
- Operating and assisting in the maintenance of specialized laboratory instrumentation
- Verifying the accuracy of laboratory records and maintaining thorough, regulatory-compliant documentation
- Examining tissues using the electron microscope to identify ultrastructural indicators of disease and reporting to pathologists, researchers, and laboratory personnel.
