About The Position

Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments, i.e. assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects, enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts. Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator. The Weivoda laboratory studies the intersection of clonal hematologic disorders with cellular senescence, biological aging and bone immunology. These include multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, therapy-related myeloid neoplasms, and skeletal biology. The goal is to develop evidence-based preventives and therapeutics. Dr. Weivoda and her Myeloma and Osteoimmunology Discovery Laboratory uses multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art approaches, including spatial and functional immune profiling, single-cell multi-omics, and novel model systems. The Research Technologist would support ongoing projects. Duties will include animal model systems and translational laboratory work under supervision of the PI. Candidate should be highly goal and detail oriented and have strong teamwork skills. Training will be provided on many in-lab techniques but previous experience working with mouse model systems and molecular techniques is highly preferred.
