About The Position

The Residence Aide, under the direction of the Residence Director, assists with activities of daily living, provides support and care to foster independence and individuality, assists with meal service, cleaning, laundry and social activities. Interacts with residents and visitors in a helpful and courteous manner. Duties include assisting residents with:
Assist with personal hygiene, including dressing, bathing, toileting, oral care, hair and skin care
Transferring to seat, bed, wheelchair, or walker
Provide medication reminders
Social activities and events, meal service
Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to supervisor
Full time position 2:00pm - 10:00pm, four shifts per week and one other shift as needed, including weekends

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least one year of experience in a caregiving role preferred
• Personal qualities of responsibility, dependability, good judgment, and empathy
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills with team members, residents, and family members; and the ability to adapt to fluctuating situations
• Must have ability to accept supervision and follow instructions independently
• Must possess diplomacy and be able to get along with others
• Must be able to access entire Kenton Pointe campus and off-site locations independently, and be able to help residents at any location, and respond rapidly in an emergency
• Must demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and observe universal precautions
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds using proper body mechanics

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a caregiving role preferred.
