This position is responsible for originating mortgage loans, developing new business, underwriting, structuring and closing loans. Represents First Bank in the local community through active participation in community and participates in marketing all of the Bank’s products and services. Reports to: Senior Vice President and Senior Lender Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follows and incorporates First Bank’s Core Values. Actively solicits mortgage loans. Develops and underwrites new construction, interim and permanent mortgage financing requests for new and existing customers. Informs customers of financial institution’s underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations. Personally interviews all loan applicants. Completes loan application and all pre-processing functions in a timely manner to ensure good-faith estimate is mailed within the requested three-business-day period. Screens loan requests based on Bank’s policies and types of loans offered by First Bank. Reviews appraisals, credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information as needed on residential loan applicants. Reviews new legislation and regulations that may affect the Bank’s residential lending policies. Ensures compliance with new rules and regulations by advising senior officers and implementing appropriate changes. Communicates approvals or denials to borrowers, real estate agents or builders. Distributes market data, rate flyers and general loan information to the real estate community as directed. Actively participates in local business and community activities and maintains close contact with local builders, real estate brokers and agents, customers and prospects. Schedules appointments and personally answers incoming phone calls. Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
