Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience working with children/adolescents with mental health, developmental, or substance abuse challenges preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-focused principles, behavior management, and crisis intervention.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible, resilient, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand, walk, and actively engage with youth.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children/adolescents with mental health, developmental, or substance abuse challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with daily living activities, emotional regulation, behavior management, and social skill development.
  • Implement individualized behavior strategies, de-escalation techniques, and crisis interventions aligned with treatment goals.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive residential environment.
  • Document daily service notes, critical incidents, and behavioral observations in compliance with agency and NC standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
  • Travel occasionally for appointments, school meetings, and community activities.
