About The Position

Scope of Position The Resource Room Specialist provides front-line support to customers utilizing the PA CareerLink® resource center. This role assists jobseekers with job search activities, digital intake, and navigation of workforce systems while maintaining an organized and supportive resource room environment. The position also supports outreach and engagement efforts, particularly for dislocated workers, and helps connect customers with services available through PA CareerLink® programs and community partners. Essential Functions Resource Room and Customer Support Assist customers utilizing the PA CareerLink® resource room and computer lab Keep program participants on task while engaged in job search activities Answer questions and provide support in a computer lab setting Assist jobseekers with navigation of online job boards and completion of online employment applications Assist customers with PA CareerLink® registration and enrollment processes Demonstrate awareness of and commitment to balancing individual customer needs with the needs of the group in a shared computer lab environment Intake and System Navigation Assist visitors with completion of the Digital Intake Form and other required documentation Enter information from completed paper intake forms into CWDS when necessary Provide guidance navigating workforce systems and unemployment compensation platforms, including BenMod and ID.me Assist with the collection of Dislocated Worker information sheets and engage customers completing the forms Outreach and Engagement Conduct outreach to dislocated workers as contact information becomes available to promote available services and next steps Follow up with individuals who have received an introduction to services but have not completed a pre-application in order to encourage engagement in one-stop services Track outreach efforts and outcomes through reports provided to the Program Manager Program Awareness and Orientation Inform jobseekers of services available through PA CareerLink® programs and community partner organizations Assist with facilitation of PA CareerLink® welcome orientation presentations and other informational sessions Support efforts to connect customers with appropriate programs, staff, and partner services Resource Room Operations Ensure bulletin boards, brochures, flyers, and documents intended for public distribution remain current and organized Maintain an orderly and welcoming environment within the resource room and customer service areas Collaboration and General Support Manage and maintain positive working relationships with partner staff to support quality services for participants Provide general customer service support within the PA CareerLink® center Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract require
  • Must be comfortable with presenting information to groups and in outreach efforts to potential customers
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English
