SUMMARY The Resource Specialist (Mission Services Division, Immigrant Resource Center) reports to the Program Coordinator or Director and is a non-exempt position. The Resource Specialist provides case management services to program participants, offering counseling and guidance to help them access services and achieve goals outlined in their Individual Service Plans. Additionally, the Resource Specialist conducts community outreach through special events and individual interactions to connect individuals with available resources and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred, plus one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Periodic travel required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have access to an insured vehicle.

  • Human services experience within the immigrant community preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts outreach to inform eligible communities about available services and builds referral partnerships with community providers and organizations.
  • Identifies new outreach opportunities and follows up on outreach and in-reach referrals to connect individuals with services.
  • Completes intake, assessments, and orientations for participants.
  • Develops and updates individualized service plans with goals based on participants’ abilities, needs, and interests; monitors progress toward goals.
  • Provides one-on-one consultations about program benefits, assists with enrollment, and helps participants overcome barriers to service access.
  • Makes referrals to appropriate services and conducts ongoing case management to ensure service delivery.
  • Educates participants on program navigation, requirements, appointments, and available services.
  • Teaches ESL, acculturation, financial literacy, computer literacy, and other relevant topics as needed.
  • Provides oral and written interpretation and translation services.
  • Engages in individual and community advocacy to promote access to culturally responsive services for immigrant, migrant, and refugee communities.
  • Maintains accurate case files, detailed documentation, and case notes for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Communicates professionally with supervisors, colleagues, participants, community agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Assists in developing and updating training materials and curriculum; creates or selects instructional aids to enhance learning.
  • Effectively manages challenging or irate participants using tact and de-escalation skills.
  • Adheres to safety standards, company policies, confidentiality requirements (including HIPAA), and CARF accreditation standards.
  • Participates in meetings, staff development, and training sessions; completes additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
