The Respiratory Care Practitioner II 12-Hr is an advanced beginner starting to integrate respiratory technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. He/she is a competent practitioner in the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures designed to evaluate, stabilize, prevent or remedy patient cardio-pulmonary problems. He/she relies on standards, policies and procedures to determine which aspects of a situation are important and which can be ignored. The competent RCP II is developing skills for setting priorities, developing speed and flexibility. Competence is characterized by a feeling of master, or feeling in charge of the many situations presented in a clinical assignment, and the ability to cope with and manage the changes in a patient's condition. The Float Team RCP II will be rotated and assigned in all the units in Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children's & Women's Hospital as needed. Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
