About The Position

This position prepares beverages for guests at the Greenway Tap restaurant while providing high quality customer service. Why Join Us? Owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. What You'll Do Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes. Provide high quality customer service to guests, including drink recommendations and information about craft beer and spirits. Maintain a safe, clean, sanitary, and organized workstation including equipment, countertops, shelves, and floors. Ensure that workstations are adequately stocked with beverage items and supplies and that equipment is in working order. Conduct identification checks for all alcohol purchases. Use bartending and kitchen tools including blenders and knives. Fulfill customers orders at the bar patio service window. Serve food to guests seated at the bar and assist servers in delivering food elsewhere in the restaurant. Operate point of sale system. Tabulate and charge customers for orders, accept payments, and accurately complete reporting according to procedures and policies. Follow all safety rules and support a clean, hazard-free working environment. Demonstrate strong customer service when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older at time of hire.
  • 2 years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Must have and maintain Illinois Food Handler Training and Certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have and maintain Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training (BASSET) or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced knowledge of craft beer, wine, cocktails, and food and beverage pairings.
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of restaurant sanitation standards and food safety procedures.
  • Basic knife skills.
