THE ROLE The Central Park Boathouse is seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations at one of the most iconic dining destinations in New York City, located in the heart of Central Park. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations for a high-volume, 300-seat restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service, and strong team performance. The Restaurant Manager will lead and develop the team, maintain the highest hospitality standards, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for all things food and beverage. And will be highly dedicated to providing an excellence guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years in a fine dining restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of fine wines and beverage programs.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage procedures, controls and administration practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and scheduling software.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current food protection certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all daily operations of the dining room and bar.
  • Manage reservations, guest flow, and the host team to optimize seating, service efficiency, and overall dining experience.
  • Supervise and coordinate front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, ensuring prompt, professional, and attentive service.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate specials, VIP guests, reservations, service priorities, and operational updates.
  • Maintain close coordination with kitchen leadership to ensure accurate order flow, timely service, and consistent food quality.
  • Actively engage with guests on the floor, providing menu and beverage recommendations, resolving concerns quickly, and ensuring exceptional hospitality standards.
  • Utilize wine and beverage knowledge to support service and guide staff and guests on wine and cocktail pairings.
  • Manage staff scheduling, labor planning, and performance management, including coaching, training, and handling disciplinary matters.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, side work completion, POS reporting, and inventory control to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure the dining room, bar, and service areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate and execute special occasions and events, including birthdays, anniversaries, and private dining functions.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate supply levels for service stations and operational needs.
  • Maintain a professional restaurant image, including staff appearance, uniform standards, and service etiquette.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including payroll coordination, reporting, invoicing, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees and completing incident reports.
  • Maintain a pleasant and collaborative attitude towards customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Adheres to the Legends Global and venue company policies.
  • Complete other duties assigned by management.
  • Available to work none-traditional hours (Nights, Weekends & Holidays).
