The Office of Research Integrity and Assurance (ORIA) at Cornell University seeks a research compliance professional with experience establishing and monitoring restricted research environments to serve as Restricted Research Officer. Well-qualified candidates will possess exceptional organizational and analytical skills and experience working with federal regulatory requirements related to research security and Controlled Unclassified Information. This new position will report to the Export Control and Research Security Officer. As Restricted Research Officer, you will support the execution of a comprehensive research security program with a primary focus on developing a restricted research program and infrastructure. You will serve as backup to the Export Control and Research Security Officer in other areas of the research security program, including security and export control for fundamental research, research data security, and interactions with federal sponsor agencies. You will interpret government regulations and contract terms and conditions, especially Department of Defense regulations related to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and export control compliance, and you will communicate complex regulations and requirements to others. With access to highly sensitive information, you will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality, exercise good judgment, and provide documented reviews of complex situations. About Us The Office of Research Integrity and Assurance (ORIA) supports the Cornell research community by providing guidance on research integrity and responsible conduct of research. ORIA oversees research compliance programs at Cornell in research integrity, financial conflicts of interest related to research, export and import controls, research with live vertebrate animals, human participants, and regulated biological materials. ORIA establishes research integrity and research assurance in the following functional areas: Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee; Institutional Biosafety Committee; Institutional Review Board; Conflicts of Interest; Responsible Conduct of Research; Export Controls; and Research Security.
